Third Suspect Arrested in Gang Rape of Teen Near Athens

Police in the Attica region have arrested a third suspect in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 14-year-old girl, authorities said Thursday.

The man turned himself in to the Juvenile Division.

The arrest follows the detention of two other suspects earlier this week. Authorities are still searching for a fourth man, who is believed to own the house where the assault took place.

The investigation began after the girl’s parents reported her missing on Tuesday night. She was found by police several hours later, wandering alone, and subsequently reported the assault.

According to her testimony, she had arranged to meet a man she had connected with through a social media application.

He allegedly took her to a residence where three other men arrived and participated in the sexual assault.

The case has prompted a major police response, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the final suspect.
